36th Annual Swamp Guides Ball Fishing Tournament & Auction
January 30–31, 2026
In this annual all-release competition, organized by the Florida Keys Fishing Guides Association, anglers target three species: bonefish, redfish, and snook. The tournament benefits the Florida Keys Fishing Guides Foundation and the Guides Trust Foundation, organizations that provide financial support to individuals in the local fishing industry during times of need. Guides are welcome to register and fish as anglers. Tournament activities take place at Safe Harbor Angler House, mile marker 80.5, bayside.

Al Flutie Over the Hill Rip-Off Sailfish Tournament
February 10–11, 2026 / Ocean View Inn and Sports Pub
The “Flutie” is an all-release sailfish tournament for anglers age 50 and over. Competitors vie for awards for the top three teams, as well as high-point male and female anglers. The tournament headquarters is at Ocean View Inn and Sports Pub, mile marker 84.5 bayside.

Free Keys Kids Sailfish Tournament
February 13–14, 2026 / Islamorada, FL
Open to children under 16, this winter sailfish tournament has no entry fee thanks to local sponsors. Teams compete for the most sailfish releases, with awards for top anglers and teams. All boats and teams must pre-register.

Lower Keys Rotary Kids Fishing Tournament
February 22, 2026 / Big Pine Key, FL
This free fishing tournament is for kids ages 5–12. Community volunteers provide rods, bait, snacks, and guidance. Awards recognize participation and fun. 

Backcountry Fly Championship Series
February 27–28, 2026 / Islamorada, FL
Anglers compete to catch the most inches of snook and redfish on fly, with one inch equaling one point. Awards are given for grand champion, runner-up, and largest snook and redfish.

The Boondocks Open-Air Market takes place every Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM at Mile Marker 27.5 on Ramrod Key. Swim for Alligator Lighthouse

Now in its 22nd year, Islamorada Holiday Fest transforms Founders Park into a winter wonderland for one magical night. The event features the beloved 30-ton Snow Mountain, where kids can play in real snow under the stars.
